Herkimer Radio & Wireless is a third generation family-owned business that has been around since 1936. It began with Hazen Herkimer in the garage behind his home in downtown Monroe. Herkimer Radio & Wireless became a Motorola Service Station (MSS) in 1948 allowing us the repair of all Motorola radios and also gave us a strong allegiance with Motorola. Hazen’s son Harry took over the business in 1963. The business moved from the garage behind the home to a larger facility on South Telegraph Road in 1974 to help accommodate the increase in the service business. Nine years ago we moved to our current facility on North Telegraph Road with the addition of sales of two-way radios and the great growth in the cellular sales. We needed a larger facility to accommodate more staff and the increased business. What started out in a garage with 2 employees has now grown into 2 locations and 18 employees.

Our company is an authorized Motorola two-way radio sales and service department, which separates us from a lot of the competition. We not only sell the radios but we can also service them after the sale – an important decision when purchasing two-way radios. Our service department has over 125 years of experience. Our competent service and sales staff attend training regularly. Along with two-way radios and accessories we also have emergency and warning lights, CCTV options, AVL options and Canopy – a wireless option. Come in and see what we have to offer. We also offer rental radios for short-term jobs or just to help out with a temporary event. Leasing options and maintenance agreements are always available.

We also specialize in Verizon Wireless cellular service. We have been involved with cellular since its inception over 20 years ago and are very happy to answer any questions you may have. We are very proud to have such a seasoned staff – something unheard of in the cellular industry. We have two convenient locations to serve you along with an outside sales staff that would be happy to come to your business. We also offer loaner phones to our customers should your phone need to be sent for service. We carry most model phones along with a large selection of cellular accessories.
